Hello, horror fans!
I am very pleased to announce that our first guest for The Scares That Shaped Us is none other than Clay McLeod Chapman, celebrated author of horror novels like Whisper Down the Lane, Ghost Eaters, What Kind of Mother, and the upcoming Wake Up and Open Your Eyes.
To kick off our journey exploring the formative stories in the minds of horror creators, Clay chose one of the best horror films of the 21st century so far, an indie horror classic laced with unbeatable atmosphere, great worldbuilding, and simmering dread. I’m talking about 2001’s Session 9, directed and co-written by Brad Anderson.
We’ll be diving deep into every aspect of this modern horror classic, so if you haven’t seen it yet, consider this your spoiler warning for a 23-year-old movie. We’ll also talk about Clay’s work, his new book Kill Your Darling, ambiguity in horror, and more.
We’ll announce the release date for this bad boy coming soon, so stay tuned, and be sure you’re following us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates.
